This has put these transport systems in the spotlight for some time because it has been shown that they can function as carriers to release controlled and targeted substances of interest without being degraded. Thus, due to the major importance of these lipid vesicles in the development of the pharmaceutical industry and the medical field, in this paper we wanted to concentrate all information regarding physico-chemical properties, formulation methods, characterization techniques, stability and applications in various therapies and also highlighting some studies that have demonstrated the effectiveness of drug treatments of plant extracts transported by liposomes.
