Materials and Methods: Synthesized nanoparticles were characterized by FTIR, SEM, XRD and Zeta Potential. Results: FTIR analysis showed presence of various functional groups. Nanoparticle size (200nm) and stability (+10mV) of CCNPs was reported from the results of SEM and Zeta Potential respectively. Entrapment efficiency, Loading efficiency and percentage yield was found to be 60.7%, 48.8% and 20.7% respectively. Debye-Scherrer equation showed particle size as 34.65 nm calculated from XRD spectrum. Anticancer activity was screened by MTT assay on HeLa, SKOV3, PC3, Panc-1 and MDAMB231. IC-50 value was found to be 58.74±9.58, 64.55±9.50 for pure colchicine and CCNPs against HeLa cell line respectively and 89.06±25.58, 92.25±15.58 against SKOV3 cell lines respectively. Conclusion: CCNPs were found to be more potent than pure colchicine. Thus our study discovered CCNPs as a potent source of nanomedicine for the treatment of various Cancers. %U https://pharmacophorejournal.com/article/screening-anti-cancer-activity-of-colchicine-loaded-chitosan-nanoparticles
